| Resumen : | Este proyecto de investigación reconoce los desafíos que enfrenta el cantón Montecristi para consolidar el turismo como un eje de desarrollo sostenible, destacando como principal problemática la limitada participación de los stakeholders en la formulación e implementación de las políticas turísticas. A pesar del potencial turístico de la zona, sustentado en su riqueza cultural y natural, la gestión actual no promueve de manera efectiva la inclusión de los actores clave, lo que ha generado desconexión, desinformación y escasa articulación interinstitucional. El objetivo principal fue analizar cómo la gestión de políticas turísticas incide en la participación de los stakeholders para impulsar un desarrollo turístico más sostenible e inclusivo. La metodología adoptó un enfoque mixto, aplicando entrevistas al director de turismo del GAD Montecristi y encuestas a 150 stakeholders, lo que permitió combinar datos cuantitativos y cualitativos. Los resultados evidenciaron una participación medianamente activa, con énfasis en la conservación ambiental como principal logro, pero con debilidades importantes en la comunicación, apoyo financiero y formación de los actores involucrados. Se concluye que es necesario transformar la gestión turística a través de estrategias integrales que incluyan capacitaciones continuas, mejoren la comunicación institucional y fomenten la cooperación público-privada. Este estudio no solo contribuye a la comprensión del papel de los stakeholders en el turismo sostenible, sino que también sienta las bases para nuevas políticas que promuevan el desarrollo local desde una perspectiva más inclusiva, participativa y equilibrada. |
| Descripción : | This research project recognizes the challenges facing the Montecristi canton in consolidating tourism as a pillar of sustainable development, highlighting the limited stakeholder participation in the formulation and implementation of tourism policies as the main issue. Despite the area's tourism potential, supported by its cultural and natural wealth, current management does not effectively promote the inclusion of key stakeholders, which has generated disconnection, misinformation, and limited inter-institutional coordination. The main objective was to analyze how tourism policy management influences stakeholder participation to promote more sustainable and inclusive tourism development. The methodology adopted a mixed approach, applying interviews with the tourism director of the Montecristi GAD (National Autonomous Government of Montecristi) and surveys with 150 stakeholders, which allowed for the combination of quantitative and qualitative data. The results showed moderately active participation, with an emphasis on environmental conservation as the main achievement, but with significant weaknesses in communication, financial support, and training of the stakeholders involved. The conclusion is that tourism management needs to be transformed through comprehensive strategies that include ongoing training, improve institutional communication, and foster public-private cooperation. This study not only contributes to understanding the role of stakeholders in sustainable tourism but also lays the groundwork for new policies that promote local development from a more inclusive, participatory, and balanced perspective. |
