| Resumen : | El diagnóstico turístico es una herramienta fundamental para el desarrollo y planificación de un destino en el que se consideran diferentes aspectos claves. La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo realizar el diagnóstico turístico de la comunidad Río Canoa, ubicada en el cantón San Vicente, provincia de Manabí. A través de este estudio se recopiló información para una respectiva actualización de la información de la zona, se evaluó los recursos y atractivos turísticos y culturales del lugar, y por último se conoció la demanda turística actual de la comunidad. Se empleó una metodología mixta que combina enfoques cualitativos y cuantitativos. Se llevaron a cabo encuestas a habitantes y visitantes, y observaciones directas in situ. Estas técnicas permitieron recopilar información detallada sobre las características del entorno natural y cultural de Río Canoa, así como sobre las percepciones y expectativas de la comunidad respecto al desarrollo turístico. Entre los principales resultados de la investigación revelan que la comunidad Río Canoa posee una riqueza significativa en términos de recursos naturales y culturales reflejados en la gastronomía y festividades comunitarias. Sin embargo, se identificaron importantes deficiencias en la infraestructura, falta de servicios básicos adecuados, nula señalización turística y una oferta limitada de actividades recreativas y alojamiento. Adicionalmente, el estudio muestra una actitud poco favorable por parte de la comunidad hacia el desarrollo del turismo, aunque también se expresan preocupaciones sobre la vía de acceso hacia la comunidad. Con base a estos hallazgos se propone mejorar la infraestructura, diversificar la oferta de actividades y fomentar la participación activa de la comunidad para el desarrollo turístico. |
| Descripción : | The tourism diagnosis is a fundamental tool for the development and planning of a destination in which different key aspects are considered. The main objective of this research is to carry out a tourism diagnosis of the Río Canoa community, located in the San Vicente canton, province of Manabí. This study seeks to gather information for a respective update of the area, evaluate the resources and tourist and cultural attractions of the place, and finally to know the current tourism demand of the community. A mixed methodology combining qualitative and quantitative approaches was used to carry out this diagnosis. Inhabitants and visitors were surveyed and direct on-site observations were made. These techniques made it possible to compile detailed information on the characteristics of Rio Canoa natural and cultural environment, as well as on the community's perceptions and expectations regarding tourism development. The results of the research reveal that the Río Canoa community possesses significant wealth in terms of natural and cultural resources reflected in the community's gastronomy and festivities. However, important deficiencies were identified in the infrastructure, lack of adequate basic services, no tourism signage, and a limited offer of recreational activities and lodging. In addition, the study shows that the community's attitude towards tourism development is not very favorable, although there are also concerns about the access road to the community. Based on these findings, it is proposed to improve the infrastructure, diversify the range of activities on offer and encourage the community's active participation in tourism development. |
