| Resumen : | Las tortugas marinas son fundamentales en los ecosistemas como reguladoras de comunidades y especies centinelas. Sin embargo, están principalmente amenazados por actividades humanas como la pesca incidental o la contaminación marina que causa obstrucción del tracto digestivo, fracturas de caparazones, lesiones y varamientos. En consecuencia, ha surgido la implementación de estrategias de conservación, como el Centro de Rehabilitación de Fauna Marina Costera del Parque Nacional Machalilla, que cuida a las especies marinas silvestres hasta su recuperación y posterior reinserción al ecosistema. En busca de oportunidades de mejora, esta investigación propone un análisis FODA para el diseño de un plan de acción para el Centro de Rehabilitación de Fauna Marina Costera del Parque Nacional Machalilla. En consecuencia, el plan de acción propone la modificación de las áreas y la implementación de un manual de protocolos para estandarizar las acciones de inspección, rescate, transporte y rehabilitación de las especies encontradas. Entre los principales fundamentos se encuentra que el centro requiere más financiamiento, sistematización de la información y capacitación de la comunidad pesquera. Finalmente, también se recomienda establecer un protocolo de educación, cooperación con la comunidad y divulgación científica ambiental. |
| Descripción : | Sea turtles are fundamental in ecosystems as regulators of communities and sentinel species. However, they are primarily threatened by human activities such as bycatch or marine pollution causing digestive tract obstruction, shell fractures, injuries, and strandings. Consequently, the implementation of conservation strategies has emerged, such as the Center for the Rehabilitation of Coastal Marine Fauna of the Machalilla National Park, which cares for wild marine species until their recovery and subsequent reintegration into the ecosystem. In search of improvement opportunities, this research proposes a SWOT analysis for the design of an action plan for the Coastal Marine Fauna Rehabilitation Center of the Machalilla National Park. Consequently, the action plan proposes the modification of the areas and the implementation of a manual of protocols to standardize the actions of inspection, rescue, transport and rehabilitation of the species found. Among the main foundations is that the center requires more financing, systematization of information and training of the fishing community. Finally, it is also recommended to establish a protocol for education, cooperation with the community and environmental scientific dissemination. |
