| Resumen : | El gobierno electrónico es una de las herramientas tecnológicas en la interacción del gobierno, ciudadanía, sector productivo, funcionarios públicos, están contemplados por leyes, planes, lineamientos y normativas, esta interacción genera nuevos espacios de participación y colaboración. La Empresa Pública Municipal de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado Sanitaria del cantón Jipijapa, implementa el gobierno electrónico de manera débil, ya que no cuentan con las herramientas necesarias para satisfacer la demanda de los usuarios, en cuanto se refiere a los trámites presenciales que los realizan a través de las oficinas donde resulta burocrático. El objetivo de esta investigación es establecer el uso del gobierno electrónico como estrategia para elevar la eficiencia de la gestión pública en la Empresa Pública Municipal de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado Sanitaria del cantón Jipijapa”. La metodología de investigación es mixta, de tipo básica, descriptiva. Se realizaron 371 encuestas a la ciudadanía y entrevistas a las autoridades de la Empresa Pública Municipal. Los resultados arrojaron que hace falta implementar nuevas tecnologías para mejorar la eficiencia de la gestión pública, deficiencia en la entrega de los trámites en cuanto a los servicios que brinda la institución y desconocimientos del uso de gobierno electrónico por parte de la ciudadanía. | Descripción : | E-government is one of the technological tools in the interaction of government, citizens, productive sector, public officials, are contemplated by laws, plans, guidelines and regulations, this interaction generates new spaces for participation and collaboration. The Empresa Pública Municipal de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado Sanitaria del Cantón Jipijapa, implements the electronic government in a weak way, since they do not have the necessary tools to satisfy the demand of the users, as far as the face-to-face procedures are concerned, which are carried out through the offices where it is bureaucratic. The objective of this research is to establish the use of e-government as a strategy to increase the efficiency of public management in the Empresa Pública Municipal de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado Sanitaria del Cantón Jipijapa" (Municipal Public Company of Potable Water and Sanitary Sewerage of Jipijapa). The research methodology is mixed, basic, descriptive. A total of 371 citizen surveys and interviews with the authorities of the Municipal Public Company were conducted. The results showed that there is a lack of implementation of new technologies to improve the efficiency of public management, deficiency in the delivery of procedures in terms of the services provided by the institution and lack of knowledge of the use of electronic government by the citizens.
