| dc.description | The increase in vehicles is one of the factors responsible for the progress and development of vehicle growth that causes congestion in a certain city. The application of suitable research methods for the study of traffic promotes urban planning that represents an economic advantage. The purpose of this titling project is to provide the analysis of the level of service for 5 intersections that are along Chimborazo street, the current state of Chimborazo street was analyzed through the technique of observation and technical visits where it was verified the lack of road signs, existing signs are in poor condition due to the passage of time and lack of maintenance, faults at the level of the tread, silting in the drainage of the road, etc. Through statistical methods and volumetric gauges, it was possible to quantify the number of vehicles that circulate on the road in a period of 5 working days and 2 weekends, in addition to verifying the traffic attracted and diverted by the intersections that are along from Chimborazo street. The topographic survey was fundamental in determining the characteristics of the study street such as road width, sidewalk width, longitudinal and transverse slopes and the total length of the road. In this way, quantitative and qualitative results were obtained that are the basis of the study of the problem, thus it was proposed to improve the level of service of the road as established by the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) Standards, through the analysis of speeds it was established a type D service level and an average speed of 16 km / h. It is proposed to improve road safety by reducing traffic conflicts through horizontal and vertical signage, increasing a necessary parking lot where the Judicial Police is located. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | El aumento de vehículos es uno de los factores responsables de progreso y desarrollo del crecimiento vehicular que causa el congestionamiento en una determinada cuidad. La aplicación de métodos de investigación adecuados para el estudio del tránsito promueve la planificación urbana que representa una ventaja económica. El presente proyecto de titulación tiene como finalidad proporcionar el análisis del nivel de servicio para 5 intersecciones que están a lo largo de la calle Chimborazo, se analizó el estado actual de la calle Chimborazo por medio de la técnica de observación y visitas técnicas donde se constató la falta de señaléticas viales, señaléticas existentes están en mal estado por el paso del tiempo y la falta de mantenimiento, fallas a nivel de capa de rodadura, azolvamiento en drenaje de la vía, etc. Por medio de métodos estadísticos y aforos volumétricos se pudo cuantificar la cantidad de vehículos que circulan en la vía en un periodo de 5 días laborables y 2 fines de semana, además se verifico el trafico atraído y desviado por las intersecciones que se encuentran a lo largo de la calle Chimborazo. El levantamiento topográfico fue fundamental en determinar las características de la calle de estudio tal como ancho de calzada, ancho de acera, pendientes longitudinales y transversales y la longitud total de la vía. De esta forma se obtuvo resultados cuantitativos y cualitativos que son la base del estudio del problema, así se propuso el mejoramiento de nivel de servicio de la vía según lo establece la Normas Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), por medio del análisis de velocidades se estableció un nivel de servicio tipo D y una velocidad media de circulación de 16 km/h. Se propone mejorar la seguridad vial disminuyendo los conflictos de transito por medio de las señaléticas horizontales y verticales, incrementando un estacionamiento necesario donde se encuentra ubicado la Policía Judicial. | es_ES |
