| dc.description | The fire management system in a territory is made up of fire prevention, extinction and use activities. The objective of this work was to analyze the fire management system in the Santa Ana canton, Manabí, Ecuador. The information was provided by the Santa Ana Fire Department. The database on the fires that occurred in the town was created with the help of Microsoft Excel, being made up of fields such as: number of fires, municipality, month, date, day of the week, time, type of emergency, zone, parish, neighborhoods, latitude, longitude and burned area. In addition to processing this data, an interview was conducted with two fellow firefighters. In the investigation period, a total of 192 forest fires were reported, the highest number occurring in 2016 and 2020, with a total of 125 (65.11%) reporting the highest number during the year in August and December. It was also obtained that between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 81.26% of the total occurred. The forest fire protection system in the Santa Ana canton has several deficiencies, both conceptual and practical, which affect its efficiency. The lack of resources to obtain more tools for fire control and lack of training on forest fire prevention stand out. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | El sistema de manejo del fuego en un territorio lo forman las actividades de prevención, de extinción y de uso del fuego. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar el sistema de manejo del fuego en el cantón Santa Ana, Manabí, Ecuador. La información fue facilitada por el Cuerpo de Bomberos de Santa Ana. La base de datos sobre los incendios ocurridos en la localidad se creó con la ayuda del Microsoft Excel, estando formada la misma por campos tales como: número de incendios, municipio, mes, fecha, día de la semana, hora, tipo de emergencia, zona, parroquia, barrios, latitud, longitud y área quemada. Además de procesar estos datos, se realizó una entrevista a dos compañeros bomberos. En el periodo de investigación se reportó un total de 192 incendios forestales presentándose la mayor cantidad en los años 2016 y 2020 con un total de 125 (65,11%) reportándose la mayor cantidad durante el año los meses de agosto y diciembre. También se obtuvo que entre las 10:00 y las 17:00 horas ocurrió el 81,26 % del total. El sistema de protección contra incendios forestales en el cantón Santa Ana tiene varias deficiencias tanto de carácter conceptual como práctico, las que afectan su eficiencia. Se destacan la falta de recursos para obtener más herramientas para control de incendios y falta de capacitaciones sobre prevención de incendios forestales. | es_ES |
